When it is dessert night at your house, why not serve this easy to make banana cobbler. Another dessert that is whole wheat and good to eat! plus so easy on the baker. Easy Banana Cobbler, you will love it!
A few weeks ago at one of our family's dinner and a movie nights,
my daughter made a banana cobbler for dessert. Now I must confess, when I heard we were having Banana Cobbler for dessert, I wasn't jumping for joy like I would say, over pie! But, Boy O Boy was I wrong. It was delicious, and I knew I would be making a Banana Cobbler for our house, very soon. Because something this good (and easy!) really needs to be part of any recipe rotation you might have going. And while I don't meal plan too much, easy desserts are the way to go in any kitchen.
That pan of Easy Banana Cobbler was finished off yesterday.
My husband had the last of it with some vanilla ice cream. And while I know I have in the past complained gently mentioned about bananas stacking up, I can tell you right now, stacked up bananas will not be a problem ever again! This cobbler will always be happy to help you use up those bananas. You do want to use firm ripe bananas for this recipe, however. Before they become what I call banana bread worthy. But I think I can honestly say, you will be more than happy to add bananas to your grocery cart each time you go to the market, just in case Easy Banana Cobbler is on for the night.
Using our Whole Wheat Self-Rising Flour makes this quick
and easy to get into the oven. And after a brief cooling you can serve it warm with either whipped cream or ice cream. Personally I am team whipped cream all the way! We don't usually have dessert every night. Much to my husband's wishes that we did. But it is definitely something we look forward to! My husband in particular, because he has a sweet tooth as big as Texas...and this Easy Banana Cobbler was exactly his cup of tea!
Ingredients needed for this recipe:
- Whole Wheat Self-Rising Flour

You will also need the following:
- 9 inch baking pan

Now we are ready to begin!
Easy Banana Cobbler

I'm going to have to try this next time we have bananas to use up!
ReplyDeleteJoanne, I was surprised at how delicious this was! I love learning new ways, from my daughter.
DeleteYour banana cobbler surprised me. I always think of eating bananas raw first. I have had fried bananas and even bananas Foster, which is almost too sweet. Your cobbler sounds delicious! #MMBC
ReplyDeleteCarol, bananas are delicious, but they have a strong flavor in baked goods, in my opinion. But this combo is quite nice!
DeleteI love banana anything, so this is definitely something I am going to try. Stopping in from MMBC, so I hope you have a wonderful week!
ReplyDeleteJennifer, thanks! I hope you enjoy this as much as we did!
DeleteYes to this!! We are big banana lovers here and we do like desserts like this in the colder months!
ReplyDeleteKim, do add a touch of cream on top! Either whipped or vanilla ice cream!
DeleteI am actually not such a banana fan, but my husband would love this! Thanks for another good recipe.
ReplyDeleteMy husband polished this off in just a few nights, around here a 9 inch pan is preferred for desserts so I don't make too much.
DeleteThis looks like such a lovely, warming dessert! I have had lots of cobblers, but never a banana one. This would definitely be popular at our house!
ReplyDeleteApril, it is quite delicious and a tad different, which is always nice.
DeleteYou totally convinced me to make this tomorrow. I don't have self rising flour, would it be ok if I use whole grain flour and add some baking powder in it?
ReplyDeleteMariama, use the following for this recipe: 1 c Whole Wheat flour, 1 1/2 t baking powder, and a pinch of salt! (I broke down my recipe for Whole Wheat Self-Rising Flour, for 1 cup.) I hope you enjoy this as much as we did.
DeleteYou caught my attention with the word 'easy' ; ) Thank you for the recipe.
ReplyDeleteNicole, you are welcome! I hope you enjoy it!
DeleteThanks!
