Encouraging Hearts and Home 12.31.2020

Getting Close to Christmas, a Crochet Star Garland, a Winter Bucket List, and DIY Sleigh Bells from Old Belts are this week's featured posts!

 Hello and Welcome!

I have special news to share, we have a grandson on the way! Our family will increase this coming June and it goes without saying that when this great announcement was shared with us it brought tears of joy to my heart, for myself, and of course for the parents to be!

This year has in fact been a struggle for many, including our blended family, but this wonderful blessed happening is a labor of love after 15 years of believing, and loving, and trying! Our daughter and son-in-law will rock parenthood!

Like all grandmothers everywhere I immediately shifted gears once I dried my face and I began thinking about shopping for the baby! And seriously, this kind of shopping is so much fun! But...

We are sharing some really happy news today on the blog!

I will remain steadfast to my frugal ways, after all, they have served me well for decades. And there have been so many fortunate finds! I have found some really cute items available from our local community sales boards, like this wonderful blue swing! I decided to hang the swing up on the nearest branch to enjoy how it already fits in our yard.

Right now it hangs from a Lilac tree branch, which will not be suitable for use with a baby, but we have plenty of very large, very thick branches on the other trees in the yard! Obviously, I cannot wait to be outside pushing this swing in a warm summer breeze...with our new grandson!

But until then, it is life as we know it, with home tasks and repair jobs done, good food cooked and enjoyed, good friends to keep in contact with, and making more good times to enjoy!

And now, for This Week's Encouraging Hearts & Home Blog Hop!
