The ThirtySix in Leather, How to Make a Teapot Cozy, Hearty Minestrone Soup, and Tricks and Tips for Getting Artwork on Your Walls are this week's featured posts!
Hello and Welcome!
We are having some very cold weather here, but no snow! Ironically they had snow this evening as I write this just outside of Las Vegas Nevada at Red Rocks Canyon State Park. The park had to be closed due to snow! But the upside to our not having snow right now is the ability to be able to set the skill saw up outside on the driveway and get some pieces of plywood cut, for a few projects here on our little homestead.
Project #1: My hubby remade the low table in our root cellar to hold 5 Gallon Buckets with Gamma Storage Lids for bulk storage of rice and beans. I also use this area to grind wheat berries into flour, on bread baking day.
I think fellow blogger Daisy@ My MapleHill Farm says it best,
"Our living habits are fairly simple. We believe in the homesteading lifestyle which means that we make do with what we have, reuse or find a new purpose for items, and invest in quality merchandise when new elements must be replaced. Shopping at thrift stores is always preferred as you never know what vintage treasures might be found."
I could not agree more! And tomorrow it is back to work...
