Hello and welcome to another great weekend!

Who is Debbie and what is she all about? 

Good question! I’m a bit quirky, full of energy, enthusiastic, into social media, sharing things, and looking for the positives.

I am Debbie- a wife, mother, grandmother, dauthter, sisiter, friend, boggre, reader, runner, walker, cyclist, Rail Trail enthusiast, traveler, Rotarian, Wovian,  and former tezcher.

My aim is to make you smile, educate you in some way, maybe inspire you and to share my world, while learning about your world.

And now back to our regularly scheduled Weekend Traffic Jam Reboot!

So what's happening at our house?

We are putting some of the garden beds away for winter with a heavy mulch topping, in hopes of having less weeds to deal with, come spring. Others will continue to be planted in, at least until we have the first frost. 

The potato towers are blooming, and the second planting of cucumbers is offering a harvest every couple of days. 

The radish are about two inches tall, and the sweet potatoes will be ready to dig at the end of October, I will stop watering them this month. 

The loofah plant has taken over! But what a beautiful sight! We will have plenty of loofahs for all our needs. 

The hens are laying more with the cooler temps! Each of our eight layers offers an egg every other day. I just got done making a new batch of chicken food. One thing I have always done for the chickens is to combine my own ingredients into a mix, then it gets a three day ferment before being given to the ladies. 

My daughter and I are beginning to make Christmas gifts, we have a craft day once a week to simply relax and show each other what we are working on, work on the craft and talk about what we want to make next! 

So why did my husband and I put together a tiny house homestead here in East Texas?

Turns out, it is a bit of an interesting story, you can read about it here if you like...and now that we are settled in, we have also made a photo tour of our 5thwheel tiny home. You really must be organized to fit it all in, cooking, gardening, homesteading and also a bit of fun from time to time!

And from time to time when inspiration strikes, I write about it all. The good, the bad, and all the other stuff from years ago, if you have an interest in creative thoughts down on paper...you could take a gander here. And From the Heart Vol II can be found here. 

And...

I try each day to get out and take a moment for myself to observe and see the daily changes taking place on our property. These moments taken out wandering have helped me find small repairs needing done as well as a rose that might have just bloomed! 

I decided to photograph these findings for enjoyment yes, but also to observe the land around me along with the changes (and hopefully improvements through the years.) You can find those photos at our Welcome to our Homestead page.
