Simple, Sweet and Sour, Salad Dressing

Quick and so easy to put together, Simple Sweet and Sour Salad Dressing is one delicious salad dressing! Simple ingredients come together to create a dressing that is exactly as the name implies, simple, sweet, and sour...

I talk a lot about being frugal around these parts!

But in reality, it is a common goal for many. Being frugal really means good management skills. Management over having a well-stocked pantry, but also your time. Time is the one thing we all want more of! A well-stocked pantry is a key to not only being frugal but you can cook without the interruption of having to go to the store, saving you time and possibly money. Speaking for myself, it is rare I only come out of the store with the one or two things I needed...

And, once busy cooking and preparing food, I do not want to have to leave the house for a missing ingredient. So apart from not having to make a dash to the store, what else can you do to save time? For our family, one thing I enjoy doing is finding new ways to prepare food using our basic pantry supplies. Having a selection of recipes that call for those same ingredients you already have in your pantry, is a real-time saver! And the variety doesn't hurt either.

Simple Sweet and Sour Salad Dressing also makes a great marinade...

Bring the kids into the kitchen, they love eating what they cook.

This Simple Sweet and Sour Salad Dressing is so easy to put together, so easy in fact that you could assign this recipe to a young kitchen helper. Possibly you would use the micro-plane and/or chop the garlic, for less experienced helpers. But kids love to cook. Especially if they cook foods that they also enjoy eating. Starting with easy recipes like this one, you will be building on cooking skills while making sure your youngsters eat well too! And who knows how much time that will save you in future years...

Simple to make Sweet and Sour Salad Dressing. So good on tossed greens or sliced cucumbers!

How about a few serving suggestions?

Simple Sweet and Sour Salad Dressing is perfect to drizzle on sliced tomatoes and cucumbers for a quick side dish to round out the meal. Or try tossing with salad greens, then topped with sliced almonds and mandarin orange segments. If you happen to have some, crispy chow mien noodles would be another fun addition.

Salads never need to be boring! Or try this Simple Sweet and Sour Salad Dressing over shredded cabbage and carrots for a no mayonnaise coleslaw dressing, tossing in a few slices of pickled jalapeno peppers and some chopped cilantro. Like I said, a salad never needs to be boring!
