Welcome to Weekend Traffic Jam Reboot! 01.19.2024

Welcome to another great weekend, and what better way to enjoy it in full than with a visit to Weekend Traffic Jam Reboot! What makes this link-up special is that we encourage you to link up not only your current posts and great ideas, but also the great stuff in your archives!

Yes, that's right, older posts are not only encouraged, but appreciated!

Wait, did I hear that correctly?

Huh?, did you say, older posts are welcome too? Yep, we sure did. Lets give those older (and STILL great!) posts some recognition and respect. Because let's be honest, last month's or even last year's creative work is still great work, simply buried in the archives...so we encourage you bring them out and share it right here!

At each Weekend Traffic Jam Reboot, we look forward to seeing all your great projects, ideas, recipes, and any family friendly blog posts you wish to share.

Weekend Traffic Jam Reboot is currently shared over three FOUR blogs, right here with Melynda@ Scratch Made Food! & DIY Homemade Household along with Marsha@ Marsha in the Middle and Lisa@ Boondock Ramblings a well as Sue@ Women Living Well After 50.

We are continuing to look for for additional Co-Hosts to share in the creativity and fun! If you think this would be a good fit for you and you like having fun while being creative, drop one of us an email and someone will get back with you!

I invite you to follow our hosts on their individual blogs or any of the social media pages you visit, so easy to keep up to date with everything happening!

What's up next, on our property? Because are you ever really done?...

Yesterday we worked on little seed pots made from cardboard tubes. And of course filled them with dirt, and topped each one with a couple of seeds. Mostly my husband because between the two of us, he had the greener thumb! We usually build a little bird habitat in part of our yard, no matter where we might live. For a few reasons, the birds need the help, and we need theirs. In order to get what we want and need from them, they get food, water and shelter if needed.

We built this large one from recycled material when we lived in Montana. The whole project was a labor of love and a fun project.

Here in Texas usually the weather is not as dire, so we are going with a more natural landscape and food stations scattered throughout the yard that has been set aside for this purpose. We are hoping to have a lot of wild flowers take over, especially those that are self seeding. But...

Rather than put out 25 pounds of wild flower seeds hoping to get a few to survive the grazing of all the birds, we are making these seed pots and will plant them hither and yon hoping for more success with wild flowers taking over that area, which we sorely hope happens!

Our weather here has been part of the bitter cold that settled over many parts of the states and of course Canada. Our low one morning was 14 degrees, burrrr! Since we live in a 40 5thwheel for a Tiny Home, we were cold. This winter taught us we have a lot of work to do sealing up seams where slide rooms attach to be warmer next winter!

We will be having a dry spell for the next few days, we are hoping to get the shop doors painted and more repairs completed on the kitchen side of the building. Be still my heart! Laundry will be close by, and an auxiliary kitchen for those busy cooking ahead days.

If you would like to know why we are building a tiny house homesite here in East Texas, you can read about it here...

In case you missed them, here are two of our favorite recipes that we enjoy  from Scratch Made Food & DIY Homemade Household

  2. I don't know what happened... we used to have to refill our bird feeders nearly every 2 days or so and then all of a sudden this fall the birds just stopped coming altogether. I'm really missing seeing some of my favorite winter birds this year!
