Beef Stew from Provence, a pressure cooker recipe
Beef Stew from Provence is rich with flavor from red wine, bay leaves, and thyme. You will let the beef rest in the red wine marinade, so feel free to start this dish one day and cook it the next! The orange zest and black olives round out the flavors and are not to be missed!

One of the easiest ways to make any meal memorable is to offer a starter course. It is a special way to begin any meal. Nothing that takes all day, or is complicated. Something light, enjoyable, and delicious! This brings us to Of Artichokes with a Savory Sauce...one of our favorite starters!
We are getting a head start on a few gardening chores while we wait out this cold front! One task we accomplished was making Seed Starter Pots from Cardboard Cores. The first thing I need to say about this process is, I will never throw a cardboard core away, ever again! Come and take a look...

Easy and Delicious Beef and Vegetable Soup.
Don't forget dinner! Speaking for myself, I have, especially on busy days. And gosh that really throws a wrench into the end of the day. Easy and Delicious Beef and Vegetable Soup will help on the busy days ahead, with dinner for today, and a carton of soup to put in the freezer for your next busy day...
Like every family our there, we have a lot going on! In our case it is homesteading with gardening, tending to the chickens and of course the land. Add in learning about our new home state of Texas, and exploring all that we can when we have open time. As well as time with family, and getting ready for the next celebration, because there will be one! Here recently I have had to add something else...a Low Histamine eating plan.

The Joy of Jams, Jellies, and other Sweet Preserves for What Did You Read This Month Linky #19
Welcome to the What Did You Read This Month? Book Review Linky, a monthly sharing link-up for books! Books of all kinds, romance, suspense, DIY, and my favorite cookbooks! Personally I couldn't be happier that books are once again, back in fashion!
And a great way to keep them front and center is to share a review of what you have read, if and how you enjoyed it, and if you would recommend that book to a friend! Oh and a story or two of how you came to own or stumbled upon the book would also be fun...because the human connection to a book is just as important! Since books are for everyone, let's all enjoy them, once again!

In My Homestead Kitchen February, looking back on January 2026.
Happy February one and all! I will start off with this first fact complaint. January was a cold one, this year! Not every day, but often for a week or more at a time. We even got a skiff of snow! We don't have a lot of cold winter weather routinely in Texas. When it visits, I instantly remember why I moved away from Wyoming! But all that cold weather did help me concentrate on a lot more kitchen activities. Which I am pleased to share, as we join Sherry for In My Kitchen!
