What's happening at our house?

We started working on a special project at the end of our storage shop a couple of months ago. I have been documenting the work, on our Homestead Page. Along the way surprised to see how the rest of the chores needing done have slowed this project down! But we are down to the last of the work, and when it is completed I will share an updated photo. 

But for now, I want to brag up my hubby for a bit. He has made this table for that area from scrap wood. The tongue and groove pieces were recycled from an old falling apart hutch left on the property when we arrived and the framing under the table and the legs were timbers found in the outbuilding that we (basically) don't use much. But in another life was used to raise Guinea Fowl. 

You can see where the doors for the top of the hutch were, the wood has lightened through the years from the sunshine coming through the panes of glass in the doors. 

We decided to go with dark chairs for a contrast to the wood. 

It will now get a couple coats of Linseed Oil before it is placed at the end of the shop! I can't wait to show our outdoor shade area off!

Why did my husband and I put together a tiny house homestead here in East Texas? 

Our Tiny Home!

Turns out, it is a bit of an interesting story, you can read about it here if you like...and now that we are settled in, we have also made a photo tour of our 5thwheel tiny home. You really must be organized to fit it all in, cooking, gardening, homesteading and also a bit of fun from time to time!

And from time to time when inspiration strikes, I write about it all. The good, the bad, and all the other stuff from years ago, if you have an interest in creative thoughts down on paper...you could take a gander here. And now From the Heart Vol II can be found here. 

And...

I try each day to get out and take a moment for myself to observe and see the daily changes taking place on our property. These moments taken out wandering have helped me find small repairs needing done as well as a rose that might have just bloomed! 

I decided to photograph these findings for enjoyment yes, but also to observe the land around me along with the changes (and hopefully improvements through the years.) You can find those photos at our Welcome to our Homestead page.
