Fix Freeze and Feast for, What Did You Read This Month Book Review Linky!

Welcome to the What Did You Read This Month? Book Review Linky, a monthly sharing link-up for books! Personally I couldn't be happier that books are once again, back in fashion!

And a great way to keep them front and center is to share a review of what you have read, if and how you enjoyed it, and if you would recommend that book to a friend! Oh and a story or two of how you came to own or stumbled upon the book would also be fun...because the human element of reading is just as important! Since books are for everyone, let's all enjoy them, once again!

The What Did You Read This Month? Book Review Linky will start on the first Wednesday of each month!

Which means it will be a month long opportunity to be a part of the fun. It is hosted with a full link-up at Homemade On A Weeknight! After linking up your review, do be sure to take a look at some of the other reviews that were shared. Because you just might find your next good read...plus it is a lot of fun to support other readers and bloggers. Reading, like travel is the one area where you can (and will) spend money, only to be so the richer for doing so!

I am so happy to be a part of this monthly event!

Reading has always been important t me and something I have always enjoyed. First as a child visiting the library each week (hello Little House books!), then as a parent and later a grandparent (Good Night Moon!) and always as a cook in my own kitchen. Cookbooks in particular have played a large part in recipe development and as a means to widen my own limited food horizons! While I might not get to Spain or Germany on a vacation, through a recipe, I can cook the foods enjoyed there! Books have also helped me to teach myself to knit! Books are my first go to for most things, such as how fix a leaking pipe, or even plant a garden. Books have been a large part of my own journey of a lifetime!

What am I sharing this month?

Fix Freeze Feast by Kati Neville and Lindsay Tkacsik

Fix Freeze Feast is filled with a variety of recipes that are prepared in bulk, but are meant to be enjoyed by the serving. When you view the contents page you will notice that this cookbook is heavy on main dish recipes. With Chicken, Beef and Pork each having a chapter. While offering additional chapters on Breakfasts Snacks and Sweets. As well as Sauces, Marinades and Flavored Butters, and Meatless Mains, Sides and Soups.

We have been making and enjoying the recipe for Mustard Oregano Chops (page 120 in the book) for years! The flavor combination was so enjoyable I began putting together a chicken thigh version as well!

We have also enjoyed the Salisbury Meatballs (page 90, in the book) but I have not yet shared them on the blog. But they are one of the recipes intended to simply heat and eat.

Fix Freeze Feast offers recipes that are cooked and then frozen only need a reheat, as well as recipes that need cooking before being served. Personally, I like having a heat and eat dinner in the freezer!

While you will find mostly main dish recipes, I liked that, because dinner was the one meal I often had trouble with during my working years. It was comforting to know that if needed, I had dinner waiting in the freezer.

And while this cook book is aimed at the warehouse shopper, don't let that stop you. Obviously you can buy what you need for each recipe at any market that you shop at.

This cook book offers pages that lay flat, for easy reading, with it's binder style jacket.
