Everyday Vinaigrette!

Warm weather and a plethora of salad greens are right around the corner. So be prepared with your own homemade salad dressings! Everyday Vinaigrette is one we keep in constant rotation for delicious salads at a moment's notice.

If I have said it once, I have said it dozens of  times...

Salads are a great way to make sure you get your vegetables for the day.
Because we are so rural here in Wyoming, we don’t always have traditional salad greens. But we always have other fresh vegetables, seasonal greens, and homegrown sprouts to put together for a quick salad at a moment's notice. One of our favorite ways to enjoy salad is a Composed Salad. And the best part of any impromptu salad? The dressing of course!

This Everyday Vinaigrette salad dressing is so easy.

It calls for basic ingredients and is perfectly delicious! It is a mild-flavored vinaigrette, especially enjoyable to those who have more of a lighter pucker factor. I think vinaigrettes are overlooked due to the strong vinegar flavor found in many recipes. But this one is perfect for a custom-order flavor for your family. For those that are not fans of tangy food, I suggest trying a Rice Wine Vinegar, for an especially mild vinaigrette.

This soy sauce tip, is the easiest way to add salt to your salad dressing...

I hope you give this easy-going vinaigrette a try. It is a good recipe to enjoy as you explore the different flavors of vinegar available at your marketplace. But don't let the soy sauce fool you, this is not an Asian flavored vinaigrette. Soy sauce is simply the easiest way to add “salt” to the vinaigrette! And that my friend is one of the best cooking tips ever!

Ingredients needed for this recipe:
  • oil
  • vinegar of choice
  • sugar or honey
  • Dijon mustard
  • soy sauce
You will also need the following:
  • liquid measuring cup
  • measuring spoons
  • storage/shaker jar, or
  • storage container
Now we are ready to begin!

    1. Right!? I don't think we have purchased salad dressing in years. This one is also a great marinade for meats.
