Honey Coriander Lime Mustard, easy upgrade for store bought mustard!

Honey Coriander Lime Mustard, is easy to make, even easier to enjoy in a sandwich or anywhere calling for mustard. So simple, just a few ingredients stirred together and a little standing time for flavor. Homemade mustard is quite fun to make, and offers a nice change of flavor to just about everywhere you enjoy with a touch of mustard!

Yes we really do enjoy all these different flavors of mustard.

I love flavored mustard, plus they practically keep forever and are great to spice up so many foods, and I don't mean just sandwiches! I enjoy making my own delicious flavored mustards, plus it's not hard at all! You will find all of these delicious mustard recipes, right here on Scratch Made Food! & DIY Homemade Household:

And now this recipe for Honey Coriander Lime Mustard

There are two ways to make flavored mustard, one is to soak the mustard seeds and then continue with the recipe. And the other is a process I have relied on for some quick and easy flavored mustard through the years. Start with a jar of high quality prepared mustard from the market. I have a couple of favorites I use, but my guess is, you have a favorite jar that you purchase at your marketplace that is perfect for one or two of these different recipes! Once I find a product that meets my needs, I tend to be a loyal consumer. The coriander and lime flavor combination is delicious. Honey Coriander Lime Mustard makes a great last-minute gift. As does all the mustard recipes found here, scratch made or those that are dressed up!

Homemade mustard is a delightful gift to give to those you love.

But don't save this mustard for gift-giving only. Make it up for your family to enjoy as well, I guarantee, you won't be sorry. Even a small jar of fancy mustard in gift shops is expensive, but as you can see from below, deliciously flavored mustard is quite easy to make. So if you want to use the whole jar, make a double batch of Honey Coriander Lime Mustard to gift some and keep some for the family, it is easy, simply double the other ingredients!

Some thoughts on this recipe:

If possible grind whole coriander seeds right before stirring into the mustard base for the best flavor.

You will need 10 ounces of mustard for this recipe, while I use Plochman's feel free to use your favorite brand of stone ground mustard.

Take care not to zest the lime too deep, you only want the outside green with none of the white pith.

You will only use half of the mustard from this jar, for the recipe. You can use the rest for another recipe, or simply keep it in the fridge to use plain.

Ingredients needed for this recipe:
  • coarse ground mustard
  • fresh lime
  • honey
  • white balsamic or champagne vinegar
  • sugar
  • ground coriander
You will also need the following:
  • measuring spoons
  • citrus zester or food plane
  • citrus juicer
  • spice grinder
  • medium-sized mixing bowl
  • kitchen spoon
  • cutting board
  • kitchen knife
  • storage jar with a tight fitting lid
Now we are ready to begin!

    1. Marg, mustard does seem to run 50/50, as many folks who love it and use it, as those that do not!
