The Top 10 Reader's Favorite Food Recipes! For 2022.

When I ran the numbers for this year's list, it was gratifying to see that five of this years top viewed recipes also appeared on last year's list. Now I have often shared (maybe too often, but then again, maybe not!) that I like to cook the foods I loved to eat from my childhood, from scratch, and use whole food ingredients as I do. And from this list, it appears so do many of you, come and take a look!

Oven Roasted Tomatoes. It appears if you grew tomatoes in your garden or even just a couple of plants, you might have viewed this recipe for a quick and easy way to put some of your ripe tomatoes away for use later on. And in my opinion you could not have found an easier recipe! A little prep, a little baking time and you have a container of tomatoes to put in the freezer for late fall or winter use. And that container will be full of flavor because they were ripe when picked and then preserved by you, for you family. This recipe was also on the list for 2021.

How to Make Whole Wheat Self-Rising Flour. This is the easiest pantry mix to keep on hand, plus there are tons of recipes to use it in! When we first started to transition to whole wheat/grain cooking and baking, this was one of the easiest ways to go. Plus I freely admit, that my first batch was not 100% whole wheat...but by the third batch, it was all whole wheat, and we haven't looked back since. Another recipe on the list for 2021.

One Pan Pork Chops and Scalloped Potatoes. This is how I remember my mom making pork chops and scalloped potatoes. It is not a beautiful dish, but humble in origin and delicious in taste. Everyone loves this dish. And yes, this recipe was on the list for 2021.

Brown Sugar and Cinnamon Granola. Although this is a recipe developed here at Scratch Made Food! it too is from my childhood. This is what PopTarts tasted like when they first hit the market, when I was a little girl of 9. We didn't have them often because 5 kids can go through a box quickly, but I never forgot that taste. Which led me to get busy and create this granola recipe! This is another recipe from the 2021 list.

Sauerkraut and Kielbasa. Easy and delicious, and if the numbers are any indicator, a lot more people eat sauerkraut than most folks think! There is a special added flavor in this recipe, a touch of bacon and it really pulls all the flavors together...this is the last of the five duplicate recipes from the 2021 list.

How to Make Ground Bay Leaves. This one was a bit of a surprise, but when I think about it a bit more, it just makes sense. It seems everyone is looking for ways to be more independent, self sufficient and cook well. Making more of your own staples and spice mixes is a perfect way to start!

Steak Pizzaiola. The perfect way to stretch a steak and feed the whole family too! Easy, delicious and a nice change of pace.

Slow Cooker Scalloped Potatoes and Ham. I love a good dinner that can go into the slow cooker, be ready to serve the family and tastes delicious. And so do you, this one is great to keep in mind when you have some ham that needs to be used up, buy honestly it is delicious enough to be made on it's own merits!

Three Ingredient Nutella Brownies. A pan of brownies doesn't get much easier than this one, plus you guessed it, this recipe calls for Whole Wheat Self-Rising Flour.

Green Bean Cobbler AKA The Other Green Bean Casserole! This is not the usual green bean casserole, and I hope you don't save this delicious treatment for green beans for Thanksgiving time only. Because if you do, you will be missing out! Perfect each and every time you make it for for your own family dinners or when guests are expected...
