Warmer weather calls for meals with fresh flavors. Lighter meals are also appreciated in hot weather. This Fresh Fruit Platter with Lemon Creme Syrup is a perfect example! It is beautiful to look at, tons of flavor, and is essentially fresh fruit in dessert disguise...the best part is this fruit platter can be made with what you have on hand!
Fresh fruit as dessert is always welcome!
With all the fresh fruits and berries coming into the marketplace now is the time to enjoy them as often as is possible! And for the busy cook selecting the freshest produce at the market or from your own garden is the easiest way to get a delicious meal on the table fast.
This Fresh Fruit Platter with Lemon Creme Syrup is a good choice, beautiful to look at, and the best part is that it tastes great. Pears and raspberries go splendidly together, but trust me, you will not want to stop there.
But don't stop with pears and raspberries...
As crops come out of the fields and orchards, market inventories will change. And so can this simple and healthy dessert. Fresh Fruit Platter with Lemon Creme Syrup is also delicious with peaches and blackberries or blueberries. Another time offer Nectarines with strawberries or a trio of berries over the top! Thinly sliced plums with raspberries are also a favorite around here!
After working or playing all day, we really prefer a lighter offering for dessert. This fruit platter is perfect! The lemon creme syrup makes enough to drizzle over the platter, with the rest offered at the table for those that wish a bit more over their own serving.
I think the different combinations of fresh fruit and berries to enjoy are endless. But for those wishing to serve a simple cookie alongside, try these Whole Grain Quick and Easy Sugar Cookies, you can't go wrong with this combo!
