This might be the earliest I have ever decorated for Christmas in the history of forever! But we had a cold snap here in East Texas and it just seemed like winter, and with Thanksgiving enjoyed and gone, there is only one other event to decorate for, and that is Christmas!
I wanted our tiny home to be as festive as all our homes have been, but I did not want to over do it and put too many things in too many places. We have a few favorites we absolutely must display or it is not really Christmas, like the large Paper Mache Santa sitting on the corner of our dining room table. As well as the little Red Truck painting my daughter made for us!
We all have our favorites and I think that possibly the hardest part about decorating for Christmas is what you have room to display, among all the treasures collected through the years. Some must be displayed, and others make an appearance every other year, seems to be a fine compromise when space is at a premium.
We also have a custom of going to a hobby store and each selecting a new ornament for the tree. They often are reflecting something we love to do, or offer a new look to an old favorite. Then we proceed to fill the tree, because of all the memories they hold. I think my favorite ornament is of a camera, that has the Golden Gate Bridge as the photo. It's a little part of my birth place that I get to enjoy each year!
And now, Welcome to our tour!
Outdoor flags greet you as you enter the driveway.
Originally we made these Jingle Bell Walking Sticks for winter walks with our Grandson, and between walks, they rest right here!
The wreath and the cute red truck painting were gifts from previous Christmas celebrations. Gifts from my daughter, they are displayed each year!
We have enjoyed this pencil tree, and even though it takes up a bit more space I like a full size tree, so we can display the ornaments we have collected through they years! I have been putting a collection of toys under the tree for years. Presents take up a lot of room, but it is part philosophy as well, I prefer to focus on family and celebrating together.
Our dining table, decorated with treasures from previous years, and the last of the roses from our flower garden. We really enjoy being able to look out at all the birds who visit.

Living in such a tiny home, a tour doesn't take long! Thank you for taking the time to stop and say hello!

I just love your Christmas home tour!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for sharing with Sweet Tea & Friends this month.
Paula, thank you so much!
DeleteYour caravan looks lovely all decked out for Christmas. We are the same way with our ornaments; I just love seeing them and all the memories they bring up.
ReplyDeleteJoanne, it simply isn't Christmas without all those memories on the tree!
DeleteLooks like you have a collection of well loved decorations that carry precious memories. I agree a pencil tree is nice in terms of space, but it is harder to display 50 years of ornaments that each have a special meaning.
ReplyDeleteThank you, I love to decorate, but a tiny space needs a light touch.
DeleteIt is all looking so festive! I love it!
ReplyDeleteYour tree is such a great size for a small space. All of the ornaments are so pretty.
Kim, thanks!
