Snacks to Satisfy and Nourish. Because snacking can also be good!

My husband is a snack-er, as am I. And while he tends to head toward snacks of a sweeter nature, I try to head towards those with fiber and a bit more nutrition. There is a reason for nutritious snacks, one is for those with small appetites' and two, smaller eaters often get hungry before the next meal.

So why not offer snacks that are just as nutritious as the meals you serve? We love all of these, come and take a peek at our healthy snacks roundup. This round up offers snacks with protein, fiber and almost no refined sugar. Real food for real hunger...

Cocoa Dusted Nutty Date Bites is exactly the sweet treat folks are looking for. Mostly fruit sweetened, with protein from the nuts and fiber from the dates.

Aqua Fresca, this batch is made with cantaloupe. Perfect to enjoy any time, but especially when you are hungry.

Gouda Cheese Spread, perfect with whole grain crackers or pretzels.

Honey Almond Granola Bites, these delicious little jewels offer a bit of protein and fiber for your snacking pleasure!

Quick Pickled Beets and Eggs. This retro classic is perfect when you really need some protein...

Creamy Banana and Kiwi Parfaits. Creamy, delicious, and make ahead easy!

Air Popped Popcorn with Olive Oil and Salt. For the popcorn lovers out there, enjoy popcorn with a bit of olive oil and then season with salt!

This is a snack double header! Pineapple is a wonderful snack, but one you serve it, take the outer shell pieces and make Tepache. A wonderful probiotic beverage to enjoy.

Pear and Muenster Quesadillas! These are so good, so yes they make a great snack, but feel free to serve them as a starter if desired!

  1. All of these snacks look and sound so good and what a bonus they are healthy too! I could just eat some of the date bites washed down with the Aqua Fresca.

    1. Kim, thanks so much. I think snacking has gotten a bad reputation due to the grab and go variety in quick marts and grocery stores.

  2. I often reach for nuts and an apple or some homemade pita chips, hummus, and carrot sticks for an afternoon snack.
