And now back to our regularly scheduled Weekend Traffic Jam Reboot!

What's happening at our house?

Well let's see, the weather is still hot! And our water heater began leaking. Now it was not a serious leak, and no doubt went on for, oh a month or so. Not enough of a leak to change the water bill, but enough that drip by drip it was leaking into the kitchen, between the subfloor and the vinyl. I knew immediately when I stepped on the floor one morning making coffee and there was a perfect "dent" in the floor where my foot touched down. Yep, for all my faults, for a brief moment in time, I was actually walking on water! 

On the other side of the kitchen cabinet where the water heater is installed, is our living room and a book shelf. Yep, pulled the bookshelf away from the cabinet and in addition to dust and cobwebs, water was beginning to leak in that direction as well. I broke the news to my husband, and the work began...

We have an On Demand Water Heater ordered and ready for pick up tomorrow! But I have to tell you, an afternoon shower isn't that bad, with our hot weather, the water is almost warm....

And, I have been walking: My goal is 6000 steps each day. I will be honest, weather (both high heat, and down pouring rain) can get in the way. But a fairly solid year, if I do say so myself.

And September marks one year of keeping this morning routine in place! I am on my second pedometer, the first one stopped working, LOL!

Why did my husband and I put together a tiny house homestead here in East Texas?

Turns out, it is a bit of an interesting story, you can read about it here if you like...and now that we are settled in, we have also made a photo tour of our 5thwheel tiny home. You really must be organized to fit it all in, cooking, gardening, homesteading and also a bit of fun from time to time!

And from time to time when inspiration strikes, I write about it all. The good, the bad, and all the other stuff from years ago, if you have an interest in creative thoughts down on paper...you could take a gander here. And now From the Heart Vol II can be found here. 

And...

I try each day to get out and take a moment for myself to observe and see the daily changes taking place on our property. These moments taken out wandering have helped me find small repairs needing done as well as a rose that might have just bloomed! 

I decided to photograph these findings for enjoyment yes, but also to observe the land around me along with the changes (and hopefully improvements through the years.) You can find those photos at our Welcome to our Homestead page.
