Creamy Banana and Kiwi Parfaits

At our house, fruit is also dessert, especially when it is this pretty. But this is not just another pretty face, no this is made from healthy, delicious ingredients. And so easy to make, be sure to let the littles in your family help...come and take a look at Creamy Banana and Kiwi Parfaits.


Because it is fruit and yogurt, yep, you can serve them as a snack!

These Creamy Banana and Kiwi Parfaits are just the ticket, for a healthy and delicious dessert or afternoon treat that will keep you satisfied until dinner rolls around. With school in full swing, we will all see more activates and busy times ahead. And all this increased activity usually means increased appetites. Fortunately it is always easier to say yes to the request for a treat when they are made from wholesome ingredients. 

All this tasty fruit and yogurt parfait require is fruit, yogurt and a touch of honey. Most likely ingredients you already have in your pantry and refrigerator. Plus this is the prefect recipe to let your young cook's helpers help with! Not only will they get a wholesome treat, they will begin to learn how to cook food they want to eat. 

Snacks are actually important for kids, as long as they are healthy!

Speaking for myself, saying yes to a snack for my children and now my grandchildren was always about eating healthy foods when hungry. And let's be honest, kids are always hungry. Sometimes it is hard to remember that they burn a lot of calories growing. So make sure what you keep in your pantry is the food you want to your kids and grandkids to eat. Making it look delicious is really quite easy...these Creamy Banana and Kiwi Parfaits are proof of that! 


Some additional thoughts on this recipe:

You will want ripe bananas for this recipe, the ones with a few spots. The sweet fruit adds to the flavor of the creamy yogurt layer. 

Out of kiwi? Strawberries make a grand substitute! 

As do raspberries and blueberries...

Need more than two parfaits? This couldn't be easier to double or triple.


Ingredients needed for this recipe:
  • bananas
  • kiwis
  • honey yogurt
You will also need the following:
  • small knife
  • small plate 
  • measuring cup
  • serving dishes
Now we are ready to begin!

Creamy Banana and Kiwi Parfaits
by the seat of my pants!
serves 2, simply double or triple to serve more!
UPDATED: 10.14.2023

1 large or 2 small very ripe bananas, chilled (put the banana into the fridge in the morning...)
1/2 c honey yogurt

1 - 2 ripe kiwi fruit depending upon the size

Peel and slice the kiwi(s). 
For garnish and presentation, cut one slice of kiwi in half and set aside. 
Dice the remaining kiwi slices.

Mash the banana, fold it into the honey yogurt.

Layer the banana mixture and the kiwi fruit pieces in 2 attractive glass serving dishes.

Top with the reserved half slices. Chill until serving time. Enjoy...

Storage options for Creamy Banana and Kiwi Parfaits. Store covered in the refrigerator for up to 24 hours.
