How to make Homemade Soft Butter Spread.

How to make Homemade Soft Butter Spread. Yes, real food turned into a convenient soft butter spread! No more ripped holes in your bread or toast! Yep real butter, that is soft, made from real food, and nothing artificial...

Are you ready for real butter, that is soft and spreadable?

With no artificial anything added? Made with whole food ingredients?. Because this little bowl of creamy butter spread, really is butter. Perfect for soft bread or pancakes. Toast, waffles, frying eggs, and even topping your oatmeal with a little dab. If you enjoy your porridge that way (we do!).

The best part, it is soft and spreadable straight out of the refrigerator. Just scrape a ribbon of butter off the top (it is real food after all), and start spreading. No more ripped bread or broken toast...plus it is delicious! Like only real butter can be.

The personality of butter...

Depending on where you live, butter in the refrigerator is a must in the summer, yet almost rock hard in the winter, even when left out on your kitchen counter! For many leaving butter out is concerning, for safety reasons. But I must be honest, I do not refrigerate my butter dish containing stick butter. Never have.

I make Homemade Soft Butter Spread because in the winter a stick of butter remains refrigerator hard, even when the butter dish is sitting out on the kitchen counter. This brings us back to broken mutilated toast…which is not my favorite part of breakfast on any day! This soft homemade butter spread is perfect!

Some thoughts on this process:

Let the butter sit out to soften, it will be so much easier to whip.

Use your favorite mild-flavored vegetable oil.

And do add that touch of salt, it won't be too salty, I promise.

For small families, 4 containers works great.

For large families, maybe 2 larger containers will suit your needs better.

Ingredients needed for this recipe:
  • butter
  • salt
  • oil
You will also need the following:
  • hand mixer
  • medium-sized mixing bowl
  • silicone spatula
  • measuring cups
  • measuring spoons
  • covered containers
Now we are ready to begin!

  1. I love this idea! We stopped using butter so much because of the hardness in winter. Can't wait to try this soft butter spread on our toast.

    1. Amy many years ago I bought a "butter bell" and what a hassle that was, I quickly went back to my butter keeper and never looked back. But living in Montana and Wyoming taught me about truly hard butter, LOL! Thanks for stopping by, I appreciate it.
