In My Kitchen September, looking back on August 2025

Hello September, and good-bye to an active August! If I thought July went fast, August beat that by a landslide...between the garden, a couple of homestead ideas/crafts I wanted to try and cooking, I managed to add 10 new posts to the archives...along with a few cookbook reviews and generally having some blogger fun. Because if it isn't fun, why are we here? Without further ado, let's join Sherry for In My Kitchen!

What's in your crisper drawer? Let's talk cabbage...

Currently I have half of a head of cabbage in my crisper drawer. But it wasn't always that way, As a matter of fact it has been fairly recently that I have come to see and use cabbage for the versatile vegetable that it is! Come and take a look at how we enjoy preparing cabbage and maybe you too will find a few more ways to enjoy this easy to prepare vegetable!

Family Favorite Cole Slaw, the perfect small batch recipe!

I have not always been friends with Cole Slaw. I remember as a child this huge head of cabbage coming out of the refrigerator and being made into an even bigger bowl of Cole Slaw! All that slicing and grating and mixing, and often we were so tired of it, that it would be chucked out as garbage, after awhile. Needless to say, I did not start making our Family Favorite Cole Slaw until recently, come and take a look!
