Broiled Plums with Sour Cream and Honey

Broiled Plums with Sour Cream and Honey is quick and easy! This will be one of the easiest and most delicious breakfast dishes to offer, whether at home or out camping in your RV!

A new journey...

I mentioned in the last post that we had begun a new journey. Our house is sold and we are waiting for the closing date. In the meanwhile it is all hands on deck for packing up the household for safe storage. And while we have so much work to do, it is also energizing at the same time. Because to achieve a dream and carry it through is very empowering. We have six or seven steps to take in this new journey and each step will be a bit of a challenge and bring joy at the same time.

Our cooking and eating are pretty much the same, home or away.

Alongside packing up our life, is the strong need to stay well-fed. To make sure we do, I am packaging up staples and going through recipes to take with me so we eat as healthy on the road as we do at home. Turns out, and I think I have mentioned this before, I don't really cook much differently when we are out and about in the RV, than I do when we are at home. You will find, that this recipe for Broiled Plums with Sour Cream and Honey is just as delicious when made at home as when camping! Served as part of any meal it will bring smiles from all who sit around your table, and that always makes a cook happy.

Easy and delicious!

While it is perfect for the weekend, it is easy enough for any day of the week. Flexible recipes like that are truly my favorite recipes and we enjoy them whenever possible. You know easy-to-cook food is often some of the most delicious...and it doesn't leave you with tons of clean-up. Which is another plus, because who wants to do a lot of clean-up when there is a beautiful day to enjoy?

Some thoughts on this recipe:

Don't feel locked into using fresh plums. Nectarines and peaches are just as delicious.

Sour cream is listed, but Greek yogurt or even cottage cheese are also delicious!

And if you would like a little crunch on top, sprinkle with your favorite granola or chopped nuts.

The amount of sugar used is minimal just enough to get a little crust when broiling the fruit.

Ingredients needed for this recipe:
  • plums, nectarines, or peaches
  • sugar
  • sour cream, Greek yogurt, cottage cheese
  • honey or jam
  • cinnamon
You will also need:
  • kitchen knife
  • chopping board
  • flat/shallow pan for broiling
  • kitchen spoon
Now we are ready to begin!
