Welcome to the Book Review Linky Party #17, for December 2025

Welcome to the Book Review Linky Party, a monthly sharing link-up for books! We are so happy that books are once again, back in fashion! And a great way to keep them front and center is to share a review of what you have read, if and how you enjoyed it and if you would recommend that book to a friend! Oh and a story or two of how you came to own or stumbled upon the book would also be fun...because books are for everyone, so let's all enjoy them once again!

The Book Review Linky will start the first Wednesday of each month!

Which means it will be a month long opportunity to be a part of the fun. It is hosted with a full link-up at Homemade On A Weeknight! After linking up your review, do be sure to take a look at some of the other reviews that were shared. You just might find your next good read...plus it is just good fun to support other readers and bloggers. Reading, like travel is the one area where you can (and will) spend money only to be so much richer after doing so!

I am so happy to be a part of this monthly event!

Reading has always been something I have enjoyed. First as a child visiting the library each week (hello Little House books!), then as a parent and grandparent (Good Night Moon!) and always as a cook in my own kitchen. Cookbooks in particular have played a large part in recipe development and as a means to widen my own limited food horizons! While I might not get to Spain or Germany, through a recipe, I can cook the foods enjoyed there! Not to mention learning how to knit, fix a leaking pipe, or even plant a garden, because books can be a large part of our own, journey of a lifetime!

What am I sharing this week?

We have made a couple of changes to this Book Review Linky Party and personally I think for the better. First, you may share more than one review, and secondly it has gone to a monthly party giving everyone time to not only visit the linky, but if you have a few pages of your book to still read, there is time to finish the book as well as write up your review to share right here!

With that said, I am going to take this opportunity to re-share the cookbooks that have been a part of the Book Review Linky Party for 225. Why? Well to be perfectly honest, they are all great cookbooks and you might want to look for one or two of them when you are out thrifting at your favorite book store, so let's get started, shall we?

Family dining does not get better than the recipes offered in Staffmeals.

One of my prized possessions, My Grandmother's Cookbook.

The More with Less Cookbook. I will actually be looking for this one, it wasn't until I wrote the review did i realize that I had lost it somewhere in a house move or flood...

I do have a fondness for theme books and this one is designed to cook everything in the oven. I know it is a favorite of mine in the winter time, there is nothing better than a house warmed by an oven filled with food. Do take a look for The Complete All in the Oven Cookbook.

This is a great read, lots of fun recipes and almost all are from scratch. Do take a look for One Bite Won't Kill You.

You will not find a better meatloaf recipe than the one found in this book! 72 Market Street Café.

Home Cooking, a writer in the Kitchen. From Laurie Colwin, need I say more?

Up With Wholesome Down with Store Bought. Because if we can make it ourselves, we usually do!

This book is a must for all serious Sourdough fans and bakers. Alaska Sourdough.

There is no reason to not have this book in your collection, is is perfect for delicious cakes but even better they are quick and easy and from scratch! One-Pot Cakes.

Yes another cookbook to be able to make it myself. Just to clarify not every recipe in this book takes hours, some are quick to make, like spice blends. If you come across this book, I hope you give it a glance! Better Than Store Bought.

Another cookbook by Helen Witty, Good Stuff. There are some amazing recipes in here! The Good Stuff Cookbook.

And lastly, I can whole heartedly recommend putting this cookbook in your cart! The Frugal Foodie Cookbook is fun as well!
