Cranberry Honey Mustard, naturally flavored mustard is easy to make!

Cranberry Honey Mustard is delicious and so simple to make. It is one of my favorite flavors of mustard that I make by dressing up a jar of chunky dijon...naturally delicious, with no additives, colors, or artificial flavors.

Starting with a good quality premade mustard means this is quick and easy!

Cranberry Honey Mustard is the second flavor I like to make when I upgrade a jar of Dijon mustard. It is so easy and delicious. You may remember the Honey Coriander Lime Mustard made from the first half of the 20.5 oz. jar. Well, this is how I like to use up the second half of the jar! I have been making this flavored mustard for a few years now, probably 20 or more when I think back. I used to make this at Christmas and tuck a jar into my son's stocking...

Don't save this delicious mustard for the holidays...

But it is not just for Christmas! No, not at all! Cranberry Honey Mustard is enjoyed year-round at our house. It is perfect on a turkey sandwich (of course!), stirred into a vinaigrette, or spread on chicken thighs or pork chops before baking. It keeps forever in the refrigerator, and from time to time has gotten pushed to the back of the shelf. But I have to tell you, I am always happy to come across that jar when I am organizing and giving the fridge a going through!

It only takes about 10 minutes to whip up, and a week or two to mellow. Then it is ready to enjoy. And just so you know, it still makes a great gift. Take a jar to a friend, I am sure they will thank you! Feel free to use a smooth Dijon mustard or a coarser style. I have used both, it always turns out perfectly, and tastes great!

We love mustard in this house, all delicious, some are simply easier to make than others.

I have made mustard from scratch before, many delicious flavors are here in the archives of Scratch Made Food! & DIY Homemade Household. But sometimes when life is busy it is nice to upgrade a ready-to-use premium product that matches your own standards. And that is how it came to be, these two flavors of mustard. Mustard is a favorite around here, we use it in one way or another almost every day...

Some thoughts on this recipe:

As written this mustard has a bit of a chunky texture from the dried cranberries. If you prefer smooth mustard, I have two options to use.

The first one, depending upon how dry the cranberries are, you may want to soak them overnight in the vinegar and water listed in the recipe, before processing.

The second option is to simply keep processing the mustard until it meets your preferred texture.

Ingredients needed for this recipe:
  • dried cranberries
  • Dijon Mustard
  • red wine vinegar
  • honey
  • salt
  • water if needed for consistency
You will also need the following:
  • blender or food processor
  • measuring spoons
  • measuring cups
  • silicone spatula
  • storage jar with lid
Now we are ready to begin!

Cranberry Honey Mustard
by the seat of my pants!

10 oz. of Dijon Mustard
1 1/2 c dried cranberries
2 T red wine vinegar
3 T honey
1/4 c water, more if needed depending upon the dried cranberries
pinch of salt

Place all ingredients into the blender cup. Process the ingredients on high for 1 minute. Stop and scrape down the sides of the blender pitcher.

Process for another minute, stopping to scrape down the sides of the blender pitcher. Then repeat a third time. If desired and/or needed use a small amount of water to adjust to an easy to spread consistency.

Scrape the mustard into a storage jar, cover it with the lid, and place it in the refrigerator to mellow.
