Chunky Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip Bars are easy to make, and so delicious. Who doesn't love peanut butter and chocolate together? I especially enjoy making these when I have lots to do, but I still get a request for something sweet (meaning chocolate) from my husband! Because, like I said easy....
The first time I made these it was many, many years ago!
It was a blogger's event where you were paired with another blogger and you made something from their blog and shared that recipe, with the group. I found it quite fun, and have been making these bar cookies since then. This recipe is the latest to be converted to whole wheat flour, and they turned out beautifully! The recipe was simply called Chunky Peanut Butter Triangles. However, I have taken the liberty to include all the major ingredients in the title because, well I like big titles on my recipes!
Even though I used one for previous batches, I can tell you now, I must have had a dishwasher at the time...but for today's bake, I loaded up the ingredients in my trusty stainless steel mixing bowl and went at it with a silicone spatula and honestly, no mixer is really needed. Let your butter come to room temperature and just start in mixing.
NO REASON NEEDED cut her tray bake into triangles.
But honestly I never have. I like squares, they are sturdy and much easier to pack away. However in your kitchen, do cut them as you want. My husband is the chocolate lover in the family, so these are gone fairly quickly. But come Christmas time I might use white chocolate and add in a few pecan pieces. Now that would be a perfect time to cut some triangles! But usually I cut squares and serve this delicious bake, right away!
Some additional thoughts on this recipe:
We had smooth peanut butter on hand, so that is what I used, but by all means, if you prefer chunky style, use it!
And our pantry had semi sweet chocolate chips, but if milk chocolate is your preference, go for it!

You will also need the following:

Now we are ready to begin!
